みなさんこんにちは。社長の小山です。
今日もきっちり仕事をしましたが、昨日のスキージャンプの高梨沙羅のルール違反について私の見解を述べたいと思います。
昨日は、オリンピックのスキージャンプを観戦。今回初めて、男女混合という種目が加わったということで、日本を応援してました。高梨沙羅選手は、ノーマルヒルで４位という惜しい結果に終わったので、何とかメダルをという想いで応援をしていました。
1回目のジャンプが終わり、大ジャンプ！本人としても納得いくジャンプだったかと思います。しかし、その数分後に失格という報道が流れ、解説者も動揺している感じでした。
私の疑問点
・なぜ５人も失格になったのか？どの国も入念に事前確認をしてるはず。
・なぜ分かりずらいルールなのか？もし見て分かれば『高梨のウェアでかくない？あれやばいよね』という話になる。例えば、サッカーでボールをラグビーのように持って走ったらファールと分かるように、見ている人に明快なものでないと、しらけさせてしまう。
・終わった後に、確認するな。
・なぜ失格者が、２回目に飛べるのかが分からない。サッカーでいうレッドカードをもらった人が後半もプレーするようなもの。
私もスポーツの大会に何度か参加したことがある。子供のサッカーの公式試合の審判をしたこともある。数年前はマラソン大会に参加もした。その時に、ルール規則を何度も読み返し確認した。おそらく、そのような確認は本人、スタッフが十分過ぎるほどしているはず。私もマラソン大会の時は、例えばジャージパンツの紐を結ぶのも、神経使う。きつ過ぎず緩すぎず、シューズの紐などは、ほとんどほどいて丁寧に結び直し、ウォーミングアップしながら、結び具合を確認する。ちょっとブカブカかなとか、分からないものかな。私も体重を気にするが、ちょっと緊張して痩せたとか、食事制限して痩せたとか、何となくわかる。アスリートならもっと分かりそう。でも、普通に違反してると分かるルールなら５人も失格にならないと思う。
私もスポーツ観戦が好きな者の一人として、見る人を魅了することも、運営側が大事だということを思ってほしい。
最後に仕事に結びつけると、仕事はあくまで、お客様を魅了し満足させるためのものであり、自己満足するものではない。受け手の気持ちを大事に仕事を続けていきたいと思います。
高梨沙羅さん、結果が残念だったけど、本当によくがんばったと思います。記録には残りませんでしたが、記憶には残りました。笑顔で日本に帰ってきてほしい。

I did my work exactly today, but I would like to give you my opinion about yesterday’s ski jumping rule violation by Sara Takanashi.
Yesterday, I watched the Olympic ski jumping. I was cheering for Japan, because for the first time, they added a mixed gender event. Sara Takanashi finished a disappointing 4th place in the normal hill, so I was rooting for her to get a medal.

My questions
Why were five people disqualified? Why were five players disqualified?
Why are the rules so confusing? If you could see it and understand it, you would say ‘Isn’t Takanashi’s clothing too big? If you see it and know it, you can say, ‘Isn’t Takanashi’s shirt too big? For example, in football, if you run with the ball like in rugby, it is a foul.
Don’t check afterwards.
I don’t understand why a disqualified player can fly a second time. It’s like a person who gets a red card in football, but plays again in the second half.
I have participated in several sports competitions. I have also refereed my children’s football matches. A few years ago I also took part in a marathon. At that time, I read the rules and regulations again and again. Probably, he and his staff have done more than enough of such checking. I also have to be very careful when I tie my jersey trousers, for example. I make sure that they are not too tight or too loose, and I almost always untie the laces of my shoes and carefully re-tie them, checking the knots as I warm up. I don’t know if they’re a bit too tight or not. I also watch my weight, but I can tell if I’ve lost weight because I’m a bit nervous, or if I’ve lost weight by restricting my diet. If you’re an athlete, it’s more obvious. But I don’t think five people would be disqualified if it was a normal rule that you could tell they were breaking.
As one who likes to watch sports, I hope that the management thinks that it is also important to attract people to watch.
Lastly, to tie it back to work, work is only about attracting and satisfying the customer, not about self-gratification. I would like to continue working with the feeling of the receiver in mind.
Sara Takanashi, I am disappointed with the result, but I think you did a really good job. It didn’t leave a record, but it left a memory. I hope you will come back to Japan with a smile on your face.
